Recently, I found out about a new line of nail polishes from NOX Twilight Beauty. The packaging was what really drew me in, I'm a sucker for interesting touches, and I really liked the metal Cullen crest on the bottle. It gives the bottle some 'weight', not in the lb and ounce way, but I'm sure you get my meaning. It kind of makes the bottle look more expensive than its $6.99 pricetag on the Twilight Beauty site. There are twelve colors, and today I have 6 of them to show you!
NOX Twilight Sugar Plum
Fuchsia base with bluish purple shimmer
For those of you that have been reading the blog for a while, you know that I'm NOT a pink person, but this polish had an interesting twist on it with the glowy blue shimmer that made it something that I would actually wear, and it's my favorite of the 6 I've seen in person.
Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5
Use for Konad: not bad, but not totally opaque when stamped. works on lighter colors, does a fun thing over dark colors- you see the blue shimmer- that's it! (and it looked pretty neat)
Finish: Shimmer, three coats to be opaque.
blurred shot to show sparkle!
NOX Twilight Disco Darling
Holographic glitter in a clear base
This polish is quite possibly the most sparkly polish I've ever worn! There are a million different colors all at once on the nail, and the polish comes to life in the sunlight!
Opacity scale (1-5): 1.5
Use for Konad: not a good Konad polish.
Finish: Glitter, five coats to be opaque.
NOX Twilight Citrus
Melon base with gold shimmer.
Again, not a pink person, but this polish is gorgeous. With the injection of gold shimmer, this pink polish takes on a really warm tone, and steps up a notch from being 'boring' or 'safe'.
Opacity scale (1-5): 3
Use for Konad: not bad, but not totally opaque when stamped. works on lighter colors, only the gold shimmer of the polish shows up over dark colors.
Finish: Shimmer, two coats to be opaque.
NOX Twilight Talon
Navy shimmer with a hint of teal.
This color is a pretty color if you're into darker vampy colors. It's a great navy with shimmer, but not super unique.
Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5
Use for Konad: not bad, but not totally opaque when stamped. works on lighter colors, but not dark.
Finish: Shimmer, two coats to be opaque.
NOX Twilight Sangria
Bordeaux
This color is a great vampy wine shade, reminiscent of fresh blood. :)
Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5
Use for Konad: not bad, but not totally opaque when stamped. works on lighter colors, but not dark.
Finish: Jelly, two coats to be opaque.
NOX Twilight Red Velvet
Vibrant, fiery red!
Generally not a red person, but there is something about this red, even though there is an OBVIOUS nail line, which sucks, but this really is a great color!
Opacity scale (1-5): 1.5
Use for Konad: not bad, but not opaque when stamped. works on lighter colors, but not dark.
Finish: Jelly, four coats, still have VNL.
All in all, these polishes really surprised me. I wasn't expecting super-awesomeness for some reason, maybe because of the Twilight association? Who knows, all I can say is that I was very pleasantly surprised with most of them. The application was really nice, no streakiness or thickness, though most of them were on the sheer side. Honestly, I think there are couple more in the collection that I want to buy, namely Poseidon (bright turquoise!) and Wine & Dine (shimmery champagne), which satisfy my bright and sparkly cravings, respectively.
NOX Twilight polishes can be purchased at Twilight Beauty.
Disclosure: Polishes were sent to me by the manufacturer for consideration.
i loved, the color and the sparkle are sooo beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get this IRL? Shipping for me is the amount of my order. :(
ReplyDeleteI have Poseidon, and it's FAB. A couple of friends bought them for me as a joke because I dislike Twilight, but I've been wearing the citrus for a week with minimal chipping and it's so diggable!
ReplyDeleteNice review! I had seen them at the drugstore but I also didn't give them a lot of credit. Have to go back for them now!
ReplyDeleteWonderful review! I've been drooling over these polishes since I heard of them. I've got no interest in the Twilight books or movies, but these polishes are so cutely packaged. That alone would make me interested, add in the fact that the polishes are great and I'm SOLD!
